Talk:Apps2SD

The page should cover the type systems and mount points that affect Apps2SD. I find it hard to believe apps can run from FAT32 withput permissions etc, and even more hard to believe that partition the SD is not mentioned here. The "recent" rename to Apps2EXT does not help either, can someone jump in and edit the TRUTH? Cheers

CM5 Updates

My phone couldn't find the 'upgrade_fs' command, but I skipped to the ext4 commands and everything seems to be fine. There should be a note about that on the page. Jk3us 16:24, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

This page should probably be merged/unified with 'Apps2SD on CM5'. PsychoI3oy 05:33, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

I can't see any instruction about adding the swap space for the gparted or cli tutorial, while it's mentionned in the first part. Are we supposed to add it ourselves, or is it considered obsolete?

Look at step #11. Is that what you were looking for? Also, I don't know how useful swap will be for two reasons. 1) read this, and 2) swap doesn't work out of the box. You will need to make a custom userinit.sh file (I'm not 100% sure if you need the userinit.sh file, but I could not get swap working on my phone without it.)

After much looking and reading and experimenting, I decided against using swap and/or compcache. I do use the 10mb ram hack, though.
